Syrian desert | Three Russian fighter jets consecutively pound ISIS positions

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored three Russian fighter jets targeting consecutively the positions of the Islamic State in the Syrian desert at the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle. Russian fighter jets have targeted the group’s positions since the morning to date with nearly 35 airstrikes, coinciding with frequent flight by Russian reconnaissance drones over the desert in order to track down the group’s members.

On January 12, SOHR activists said that three Russian jets consecutively pound the Syrian desert, coinciding with an attack by ISIS members on positions of the regime-backed forces in the deserts of al-Ghanem al-Ali and Al-Buhamad in eastern countryside of Raqqa.
