Al-Quneitra Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of a member of the “Golan Regiment” forces close to the Lebanese Hezbollah, as a result of his injuries sustained yesterday evening in an IED explosion in a military vehicle belonging to the “Golan Regiment” in the village of Al-Qusayba in southern countryside of Al-Quneitra, near the occupied Syrian Golan, bringing the death toll to two members.

On January 11, SOHR sources reported that unknown gunmen opened fire, in the early hours of Monday morning, on a post of the regime’s ally forces of “Golan Regiment”, which is close to the Lebanese Hezbollah, in Jaba town in Al-Quneitra countryside. The attack resulted in the death of a member of “Golan Regiment”.

On January 7, Observatory activists said the IED which exploded earlier that morning in a car carrying people on the road to Mumtanah in the central countryside of Al-Quneitra, targeted a former opposition leader of the “Martyrs of Al-Quneitra” faction who struck a reconciliation deal and joinedthe Military Security “branch 220” with several members of the faction. The explosion killed the leader and injured three other people who were escorting him.
