In unknown circumstances | Body of university student found in northern Al-Sweida countryside

Al-Sweida governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that the body of a young university student was found in the village of Lahta, located in the northern countryside of Al-Sweida. The victim was shot dead from a weapon he had with him, but no confirmed information has yet been reported as to whether it was a murder, or was accidentally killed while tampering with his weapon and cleaning it up.

Yesterday, reliable SOHR sources reported exchange of fire between a thief and a group of civilians travelling in a car in Al-Suwaidaa city, as the thief was attempting to hijack the car by force. During the exchange of fire. The thief killed one of the car’s occupants and injured three others.

On January 11, SOHR activists said that residents in Al-Suwaidaa city found a young man dead and lying near the city’s “School for Commerce” with marks of torture on his body. According to Syrian Observatory sources, the young man was from Al-Suwaidaa, and was one of the ringleaders in the area.

Al-Suwaidaa province experience escalating security chaos and an increase in kidnappings and requests for ransom, in light of the deteriorating security situation in the region, where Al-Suwaidaa has become a safe haven for these gangs.
