Al-Quneitra Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that unknown gunmen opened machinegun fire on a military checkpoint of regime forces in Ruwayhana area in Al-Quneitra countryside, killing two regime soldiers and injuring others, some seriously.
On the other hand, SOHR activists have documented the death of a regime lieutenant affected by injuries he sustained in earlier attack.
SOHR sources documented earlier this morning the death of a member of the “Golan Regiment” which is close to the Lebanese Hezbollah, succumbing to his wounds sustained yesterday in an IED explosion in a military vehicle belonging to the “Golan Regiment” in Al-Qusayba village in southern countryside of Al-Quneitra, near the occupied Syrian Golan, bringing the death toll to two members.
On January 11, SOHR sources reported that unknown gunmen opened fire, in the early hours of Monday morning, on a post of the regime’s ally forces of “Golan Regiment”, which is close to the Lebanese Hezbollah, in Jaba town in Al-Quneitra countryside. The attack resulted in the death of a member of “Golan Regiment”.
While on January 7, Observatory activists said the IED which exploded earlier that morning in a car carrying people on the road to Mumtanah in the central countryside of Al-Quneitra, targeted a former opposition leader of the “Martyrs of Al-Quneitra” faction who struck a reconciliation deal and joined the Military Security “branch 220” with several members of the faction. The explosion killed the leader and injured three other people who were escorting him.
