In light of escalating Russian movements in the region | Russian officers meet with Turkish officers at Sherrakrak silos after meeting with regime and SDF in the 93th Brigade

SOHR sources have told SOHR that a Russian delegation, comprising officers, met on Monday with regime officers and leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the 93th Brigade in Ain Issa, north of Raqqa.

No information has been reported so far on the nature of the meeting, during which developments in the region, particularly Ain Issa, were likely to be discussed.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, after the meeting, the Russian side headed to Sherrakrak silos in northern countryside of Raqqa, and met with the Turkish side there.

This comes in the light of the escalating Russian movements in north-eastern Syria, where the Syrian Observatory monitored over the las days, large Russian reinforcement arriving in the area, coming from Aleppo, to Ain Issa and from there to Tal Tamer and other areas in Hasakeh countryside.

On December 21, reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that ten Russian armoured vehicles, carrying Russian officers and soldiers, set off from the area of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, and headed to the silos of Shirakrak in the same countryside. A meeting took place with Turkish officers in silos to discuss several matters concerning the region, particularly the recent Turkish escalation.

Observatory sources also said that the relatives of the two civilians, who are still under the rubble of a demolished house in Jahbal, accompanied the Russians to Shirakrak in order to address this issue with the Turkish side to pull the two men from under the rubble.
