Hasaka Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists have reported that the “Anti-Terrorism Forces” of the Syrian Democratic Forces, arrested yesterday a leader of the “Islamic State”, who is responsible for planning assassinations and planting IEDs targeting fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces. The leader was arrested from the village of Al-Falaha in eastern rural al-Hasakah, where IEDs and some individual weapons were found in his possession.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that a military unit of the Syrian Democratic Forces raided, in the early hours of Monday morning, a house in the village of Al-Zarr in eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, and arrested the brother-in-law of a leader of the Islamic State.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored the intensive deployment of military checkpoints belonging to SDF in the towns of Granij and Al-Shuhayl, east of Deir ez-Zor.

On January 12, SOHR sources said that members of the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested three brothers after raiding their house in the town of Al-Baghuz in countryside of the city of Al-Bukamal city, east of Deir ez-Zor, accused of “dealing with ISIS cells.”
