“De-escalation zone” | Regime forces and rebels exchange fire in southern Idlib countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored clashes with medium machine guns between regime forces and loyalists on the one hand, and opposition factions on the other, on frontlines of Rawiha and Benin, south of Idlib. Meanwhile, regime forces shelled, this morning, places on the outskirts of Kafr Aweed, Fleifel and and Benin, but no casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the fall of rocket-propelled grenades fired by regime forces on areas in Al-Bara, Al-Fatira, Benin and the perimeter of Kansafra in Jabal al-Zawiya in southern countryside of Idlib, as part of the ongoing violations of the ceasefire implemented in the “de-escalation zone”, which agreed upon after a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Receb Tayyip Erdogan on March 5.
