Jabhat al- Nusra and the Islamist factions take control over wide areas in the city of Jeser al- Shagour

Idlib Province: The violent clashes between Jabhat al- Nusra, Jund al- Sham and the other Islamic factions against the regime forces and allied militiamen are still taking places around the city of Jeser al- Shagour, where Jund al- Sham and Jbhat al- Nusra could seize wide parts of the city, amid violent clashes inside the city and coincided with carrying out 6 raids at least on the fighters’ positions in and around the city.

It is worth mentioning that the city of Jeser al- Shagour is considered the first city that witnessed taking the government forces out in the third, 4th, 5th, and 6th of July in 2011 after killing 140 members of the security forces and police. Later on, the defected officer “Hosain al- Harmoush” declared that he was the responsible of the local militiamen who carried out this attack.

The number of raids carried out on places around the city of Jeser al- Shagour has risen to 44 at least.

A fighter from the Islamic factions died yesterday in clashes with the regime forces around al- Qermid camp.
