The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said three Syrian Syrian regime forces were killed while several others got injured in an explosion in the eastern countryside of Homs.

The blast was caused by an IED attack on Palmyra road, SOHR said in a report on Thursday.

This came as Russian-backed forces, including the Fifth Corps and the Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade, were trying to secure the Deir Ezzor-Homs road through a large-scale security campaign.

According to SOHR, Russian jets executed more than 20 airstrikes in the Syrian desert, targeting ISIS positions in the Aleppo-Hama-Raqqa triangle.

Separately, the Turkish and Russian forces have established two military points in Idlib’s eastern countryside, located on the contact lines between the Syrian opposition factions and regime forces.

The Russian forces established their military point near Afs village, north of Saraqib city, while the Turkish forces established their post in the western side of Saraqib city near the Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4).

These two military points were established in light of the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in Moscow on March 5, 2020.

They also follow previous agreements on the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria to prevent clashes between the opposition factions and the Syrian regime on the M4 and the Aleppo – Damascus (M5) international roads.

In other news, Turkish forces have shelled with artillery the vicinity of Tal Rifaat, Harbal and Marnaz villages in Kurdish controlled areas in Aleppo’s northern countryside, the SOHR reported.

A day earlier, Observatory sources reported that Turkish forces stationed in “Euphrates Shield” areas shelled the Kurdish-controlled villages of Marnaz and al-Alqamiyyah in Aleppo’s northern countryside with artillery.
