Reacting to the arrest of resident from Al-Sweida | Local factions deployed on Damascus-Sweida road, arresting regime officer

Al-Suwayda governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported that local factions in Al-Sweida governorate set up a checkpoint on the Damascus-Sweida road, and arrested a regime officer, reacting to the arrest of a resident from the village of Al-Genina in rural Al-Sweida, for unknown reasons.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, local factions of Al-Sweida are still deployed on the Damascus-Sweida highway, stopping all passing cars, and searching for regime soldiers and officers with the aim of arresting them.

On January 2, SOHR sources said that dozens of residents of Shahba town in Al-Sweida countryside cut off Damascus-Sweida road near Um al-Zaytoun checkpoint, after arresting one of the city’s residents, in the Syrian capital Damascus, without knowing the reasons. The residents demanded the immediate release of the arrested young man.
