Unusual movements | US forces bring in reinforcement to military base near border triangle of Syria-Turkey-Iraq in northern Al-Hasakah
Reliable sources have informed SOHR that US forces continue their movements in north-east Syria region, as they brought in new military reinforcement, including Armoured vehicles and tanks, to their military base in Al-Malikiyah (Dayrik) in Al-Hasakah countryside near the Syria-Turkey border. US forces also conducted a patrol on the border strip in the area as a part of recent unusual movements in the region.
In the past 48 hours, US forces brought in similar reinforcement to the same base, amid reports of their intention to establish a new base in Al-Malikiyah countryside (Dayrik) near the border triangle of Syria-Turkey-Iraq. It is worth noting that Turkey had threatened to launch a military operation with the aim to take control of the border strip.
A few hours ago, US forces ran a patrol of US armoured “Bradley” vehicles and other military vehicles today. The patrol took Al-Qamishli- Al-Malikiyah road from Kharab Al-Jir airbase in the south of Rumaylan town to Al-Malikiyah town (Dayrik). Meanwhile, several helicopters were seen escorting the patrol.
This patrol came as a part of escalating movements by US forces operating within the ranks of the International Coalition in north-east Syria region, as SOHR sources reported on January 23 that the International Coalition continued to send in reinforcement to its bases in north-eastern Syria. In the last month, the Syrian Observatory monitored the entry of 240 trucks and vehicles carrying logistical and military equipment, via the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in seven batches to the bases of the International Coalition in Tel Baydar and Rmilan and other bases in al-Hasakah, Koniko and Al-Omar in Deir ez-Zor countryside.
The first batch entered on December 23, the second on January 4, the third on the seventh of this month, the fourth on the tenth of this month, and the fifth entered on the 16th, and the sixth on the 19th of the month, while the latter entered on the 20th of the same month.
