Thousands of civilians are still trapped on the Syrian- Turkish border, and SOHR calls for guarantee safe shelters to them

 

Thousands of Syrian civilians, including hundreds of women and children, are still trapped on the Syrian- Turkish border in the province of al- Raqqa after they have displaced from their villages and towns due to the clashes erupted in wide areas in north and northwest of al- Raqqa province between YPG, backed by rebel battalions, and IS militants and their fear of US- led coalition airstrikes.

 

SOHR calls the United Nations to move immediately and urgently to work with the Turkish authorities in order to allow for thousands trapped citizens to cross the border towards the Turkish side and to work on guarantee safe shelters to them, as well as supplying them by humanitarian and medical aids.
