As “Central Commission” refuses their presence | Regime forces withdraw form several positions in Jilin and boost military posts in western Daraa

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Syrian Observatory activists have monitored a group of reinforcement, brought by regime forces a few days ago, withdrawing from Jilin area in Daraa countryside.

According to SOHR sources, nearly 100 soldiers of regime infantry and vehicles with light and heavy submachine guns installed over them have withdrawn, after the “Central Commission” rejected their presence in the area. On the other hand, the 5th Corps has brought in military reinforcement to the road to Sheikh Saad residences, where the regime-backed corps deployed advanced checkpoints.

On January 27, SOHR sources said that regime forces erected soil barriers and boosted positions and posts where they were stationed in the surrounding areas of Tafas city. This development coincided with the arrival of military reinforcement of the 645th Battalion of the 4th Division to the area of the scientific research centre in Jilin town in the western countryside of Daraa. It is worth noting that regime forces continued preventing the entry of flour to bread bakers in Tafas city for the third consecutive day.

A day earlier, reliable sources in Daraa province told SOHR that and agreement reached, under Russia’s sponsorship and guarantees, defusing the tension in Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa and ordering the handing over of the heavy weapons in possession of the former opposition fighters and commanders in the city. According to the new agreement, no one would be forced to deported to north Syria, except only one commander called “Abu Tareq Al-Subayhi”.

Al-Subayhi is a prominent commander from Ataman town in western Daraa, and he would deport to north Syria with former fighters and commanders who wanted to leave Daraa. The agreement was reached after protracted meeting in Tafas attended by representatives of the Russians, the Russian-backed 5th Corps, the central committee in Hawaran, and the regime-backed 4th Division.

On the other hand, SOHR sources reported that the flights by regime fighter jets over the western countryside of Daraa, a few hours earlier, were just a massage to the ex-fighters in the region with the aim to scare them.
