Assassination | Unknown gunmen shoot dead regime “collaborator” near border with the “occupied Golan”

Al-Quneitra Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have documented the death of a “collaborator” with the military intelligence service, after being shot by unknown gunmen in Al-Ruwayhana town near border with the “occupied Golan” in Al-Quneitra countryside.

On January 31, SOHR sources reported an armed attack by unknown assailants on a regime military post in the town of Jaba in the northern countryside of al-Quneitra near the border with the “occupied Golan”. Clashes erupted between regime forces and the attackers, along with hearing an explosion in the area, but no casualties were reported.

Two days earlier, SOHR activists said that unidentified gunmen attacked the headquarters of the Air-Force Intelligence branch in the town of Sayda al-Hanout near the occupied Golan, close to an Israeli observation post, while ambulances were seen rushing to the site of the explosion, amid reports of casualties.

On January 17, SOHR activists documented the death of three regime soldiers and injury of others in an attack by unknown gunmen, using machineguns and IEDs, on a regime military checkpoint in Ruwayhina area in Al-Quneitra countryside, nearly two kilometres away from the demilitarize zone in the occupied Golan.
