Renewed bombardment | Turkish and Kurdish forces trade fire in Aleppo countryside

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Syrian Observatory activists have monitored exchange of shelling between Turkish forces and their proxy factions on one hand, and Kurdish forces on the other, on several frontlines of in Aleppo countryside. Kurdish forces shelled the surrounding areas of Azaz city and factions’ positions in the regime, while Turkish forces and their proxies shelled positions in the area of the scientific research centre, Mar’anaz frontline and the northern outskirts of Tel Rifaat town. No casualties have been reported.

 

Meanwhile, clashes with heavy machineguns are still underway on Mar’anaz frontline and surrounding areas.

 

On January 22, Turkish forces stationed in their military bases in “Euphrates Shield” areas, shelled Al-Shahbaa area, Sadd Al-Shahbaa and the surrounding areas of Mare’ town in Kurdish-held areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.

 

A day earlier, SOHR sources said that Kurdish forces fired several mortars on the Turkish military base in Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, along with targeting the frontlines with Turkish-backed factions in the area with heavy and medium machineguns.

 

SOHR activists had reported that Turkish forces shelled, with artillery, the surrounding areas of Tal Rifaat town, Harbal village and Mar’naz in Kurdish controlled areas in the northern countryside Aleppo. No casualties were reported.
