Daraa | 4th Division establishes military barracks containing Iranian-backed militiamen

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported seeing regime forces bringing in heavy weapons, tanks and ammunition to Al-Jame’at area on the road between Al-Muzayreb town and Al-Yadoudah in Daraa countryside. According to SOHR sources, these military reinforcement have been recently brought with the aim to establish a military barracks containing members of the 4th Division and Iranian-backed militiamen.

 

In connection to this, regime forces blocked the road between Al-Muzayreb and Al-Yadoudah and transported the recent reinforcement from Kharab Al-Shahm area to Al-Salem complex in Nahaj village, then to Al-Jame’at area where the military barracks is located.

 

On January 31, Observatory activists monitored a group of reinforcement, brought by regime forces a few days earlier, withdrawing from Jilin area in Daraa countryside.

 

According to SOHR sources, nearly 100 soldiers of regime infantry and vehicles with light and heavy submachine guns installed over them withdrew, after the “Central Commission” rejected their presence in the area. On the other hand, the 5th Corps has brought in military reinforcement to the road to Sheikh Saad residences, where the regime-backed corps deployed advanced checkpoints.

 

While on January 27, SOHR sources said that regime forces erected soil barriers and boosted positions and posts where they were stationed in the surrounding areas of Tafas city. This development coincided with the arrival of military reinforcement of the 645th Battalion of the 4th Division to the area of the scientific research centre in Jilin town in the western countryside of Daraa.
