Eastern Aleppo countryside | Explosion kills Turkish officer in al-Bab city

Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented this morning the killing of a Turkish officer, who was in charge of the engineering and landmines section in the Turkish army in the city of Al-Bab in eastern Aleppo countryside. The officer was killed while he was dismantling an IED which was intended to detonate at the entrance to the headquarters of “al-Hamza Division” in the old agriculture building in the city.

It is worth noting that this is the second person of Turkish forces killed on Syrian soil in 2021.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of a soldier of the Turkish forces of wounds he sustained a few days ago, following an armed attack on a Turkish post in western countryside of Idlib. SOHR sources reported on January 31 that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the outpost of a Turkish military post in Abu Al-Zubayr area near Muhambel town on Aleppo-Latakia international highway “M4” in western Idlib. The attack left two Turkish soldiers injured.

Two days ago, SOHR activists documented the death of a person and the injury of three others in IED explosion in the industrial area in Al-Bab city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
