Rebel and Islamist factions accuse YPG of carrying out “a campaign of ethnic and sectarian cleansing” under “US- led coalition air cover”, while YPG refutes the accusations and calls the displaced to come to its held areas

 

 

SOHR received a copy of a statement issued by several rebel and Islamic factions who said that YPG has carried out “a campaign of ethnic and sectarian cleansing” under “US- led coalition air cover”. The statement reported, “YPG and PYD have carried out a new campaign of sectarian and ethnic cleansing against the Sunni Arabs and Turkmen in the west of al- Hasakah and Tal Abyad under US- led coalition air cover which participate in shelling to terrorize the civilians and push them to leave their villages.”

 

‘This step comes to complete a plan of a division that some specified parties, particularly “PKK” that is listed as a terrorist organization, work on it with cooperation with some international and regional parties. This step are going to be catastrophic for the future of Syria and the region,” the statement continue.

 

The statement concluded, “in the light of the foregoing, the armed revolutionist factions that represent the will of Syrian people declared the following:

 

• To affirm that the territorial unity of Syria is red line that may not be impaired under any circumstances and that all the Syrian people will stand against any project for division.
• Arabs and Kurds are linked by Islam and the partnership of future and nation, where our Kurdish brothers have engaged in different rebel factions and they have had good positions towards our revolution and their Arab brothers. So, they are an essential part of our community and revolution. We call upon our Kurdish brother to align with the revolution and its concepts.
• We condemn the collusion and silence of the international community on this new conspiracy against the Syrian people. so, we have not heard any objections or condemnations about the crimes of traitorous“PYD” which has violated several provisions of the Charter of the International Criminal Court, the fourth Geneva convention about protecting civilians and the International convention about genocide. All these crimes make this pro- regime organization is a terrorist one according to the international laws, but the concern of the international community focuses just on listing the Sunni Arab groups.
• We are not going to stands idly by towards the manipulation of demography of our country and towards the sectarian and ethnic cleansing committed against the Syrian Arab people, where the follies of Islamic State “Daesh”, its specious actions and its treachery with the Mujahedeen have played significant role in this.
• The civil and military forces of the Syrian revolution is going to response resolutely to all those who involved in this criminal act, and we are not going to allow to give up our people’s right and their demands of the territorial unity of Syria.

 

Meanwhile, YPG issued a statement that “Our units continue liberating region of Rojava from IS. Beginning from liberating Tel Hamis and Tel Brak in eastern of Qamishlo city countryside and basin of Al Khabur and Kazwan Mountain (Abdul Aziz) in western of Al Hasakah countryside to the town of Slouk and outskirts of the city of Tel Abyad in the north of Al Raqqa city. In addition to, we liberated tens of thousands kilometers of lands, towns and villages from “Daesh” terrorism, with great harmony and joy of the different components of people in the region. 

 

These victories are the result of our martyrs’s blood who offered their souls for the sake of getting rid from this despicable terrorism, which was crouching over the Syrians chest. However, it seems that such a great and successive victories troubling some parties and do not like the loss of “Daesh”. Therefore, these parties are trying hard by all unmoral means to distort victories of our units, which have been achieved due to the sacrifices of our martyrs, cooperation of the region’s people and the great cohesion shown by our people of all sects in this great national wedding in defeating terrorism. The paid media campaign by some of parties and authorities, which are trying to circulate stories and scenarios that contradict the fact by accusing our units of committing violations and assaulting others, and portraying this as an ethnic conflict. These accusations are totally rejected and fabricated. The holders of these stories and scenarios want to achieve what IS could not achieved in spreading toxins of discord among the components of our people. In our battle with IS there are dozens of martyrs of Arab brothers, whose blood mixed with the blood of their brothers from Kurds, Syriac and Assyrians to defend honor, lives of citizens and to defend the values of freedom and dignity. Their graves are evidence for those who try to ignore the truth and the history that records every day with this great cohesion, and this is the secret of victory over IS terrorism and his inhumane oppression.
We say it publicly, where were these parties which throws charges here and there against our units, from what IS committed of the devastation, burning and destruction in the town of Mabrokh, Al Rawya and Al Dahmaa villages and in the villages of Assyrian brothers in the basin of Al Khabur? Today, after we liberated these areas, these parties have tried very hard to accuse our units of crimes and violations originally committed by IS. The irresponsible acts that show how this parties attempt to beautify IS image, underestimate its terrorism and legitimize its presence in the region at the expense of innocent and defenseless civilians. We see their double standards in fabricating the bright truth and in marketing of evil and terrorism.
We in People’s Protection Units are not afraid to show the facts, on contrary our doors were open to all international and global media, and they still open wide. We renew our call for those who wish to see the reality on the ground, instead of circulating rumors and fabrications depending on suspicious sources that often non-existent and imaginary and service agendas hostile to the interests of our people to get rid from IS terrorism, and what ISIS seeks to pass.
The terrorism against our Druze brothers in Khlib Alloza village in Idlib city is a heinous crime. Moreover, what they are suffering from in al- Suwaydaa city is not different to what happened in Idlib. The goal is to hit the components and spectrum of Syria with each other and deepen the differences between them. We in People’s Protection Units (YPG) consider attacks and massacres on our Druze brothers directed to us, and we are going to work by all means to protect and defend them and express our readiness for it now and at all times.
For the safety of civilians brothers who suffer from IS terrorism in its control areas, We appeal them not to go outside the borders but to take refuge in our safe areas like the two cities of Al Hasakah and Sere Kaniye. We are going to take care of them and ensure all of their humanity needs until the security is restored to the area, then they can go back to their villages.”
