Syrian desert | 130 Russian airstrikes kill nearly 20 ISIS members in eastern Hama

The Islamic State continues to drain the Syrian regime, allied militias and its Russian ally, where the regime forces are being drained by operations, ambushes and surprise attacks carried out by ISIS members, inflicting great human losses on regime forces in different areas in the Syrian desert.

While the Russians are drained by the large amount of airstrikes that Russian jets execute daily, which do not result in great losses among the group members.

In this context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the killing of 18 ISIS members in more than 130 Russian airstrikes on the Syrian desert in the last 24 hours. Russian jets carried out 30 raids, on Saturday, killing seven ISIS members, while yesterday 100 airstrikes were carried out, during which 11 members of the group.

The airstrikes concentrated on eastern countryside of Hama, specifically on the Ethraya frontline and the Aleppo-Hama-Raqqah triangle.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented over 100 airstrikes by Russian jets which targeted ISIS positions in the Syrian desert, while most of these airstrikes hit positions in the eastern countryside of Hama. The Russian airstrikes coincides with ongoing campaigns to search for ISIS cells.

Two days ago, Observatory sources reported that Russian jets executed nearly 50 strikes in 24 hours, targeting ISIS positions in the Syrian desert.

This brings the total number of airstrikes to more than 150 in the last 48 hours.
