Russian officers arrive in areas controlled by Turkish forces and proxies in northern Al-Hasakah to meet with Turkish officers in Allouk

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have reported that Russian officers have arrived in areas under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions in Abu Rasin countryside (Zarkan) in northern Al-Hasakah with the aim to meet with Turkish officers. According to SOHR sources, the meeting will be held in Allouk village in Ras Al-Ain countryside in Al-Hasakah countryside. However, no further details have been reported about the circumstances and reasons behind holding this meeting which is supposed to start in hours.

On January 18, SOHR sources said that a Russian delegation met with regime officers and SDF commanders in the 93rd Brigade in Ain Issa, north of Al-Raqqah. However, no information were reported on the nature and outcomes of the meeting, during which developments in the region, particularly Ain Issa, were likely to be discussed. According to Observatory sources, the Russian delegation headed to Sherkarek silos in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah just after that meeting, where it met with the Turks stationed there.

This development came in the light of the escalating Russian movements in north-eastern Syria, where the Syrian Observatory monitored, in the past days, large Russian reinforcement arriving from Aleppo to Ain Issa and from then to Tel Tamer and other areas in Hasakah countryside.
