After similar incident in Al-Darbasiyah | Asayish Forces arrest four teachers in Amouda for “teaching lessons of Syrian regime curricula”

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that patrols of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) arrested four teachers in Amouda city in Al-Hasakah countryside. According to SOHR sources, the four teachers were arrested for “giving students private courses in their homes, where they teach lessons of the Syrian regime curricula”.

 

On January 23, SOHR sources reported that the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) released the teachers they arrested three days earlier in Al-Darbasiyyah city in northern Al-Hasakah for “teaching lessons of the curricula of the Syrian regime”.

 

According to SOHR sources, the teachers were released after mediation by the city’s elders and dignitaries, and after they vowed not to teach the Syrian regime curricula secretly in their homes. It is worth noting that Asayish Forces maintained two people, relatives of these teachers, in their prison for “attacking Asayish Forces during a demonstration in the city.

 

While on January 20, Observatory activists monitored tension in the city of Al-Darbasiya in Al-Hasakah countryside, following the arrest of teachers by “Asayish” intelligence a day earlier. Sons, relatives and students of these teachers staged a demonstration near the headquarters of Al-Asaysh in Al-Darbasia, demanding the release of the teachers.

 

Sources said that the protesters threw stones and attacked “Asayish”. Asayish Forces therefore arresting five protesters, including three children under the age of eighteen, and then released the children and maintained two men of the teachers’ relatives. Other sources said that Asayish Forces assaulted the protesters who were demanding the release of the teachers.

 

A day earlier, reliable sources told SOHR that the intelligence of the Internal Security Forces “Asayish”, arrested seven teachers from the city of Al-Darbasiya, north of Al-Hasakah, for “giving lessons of the curricula of the Syrian regime”.

 

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the arrested teachers were giving enrichment courses to high school and secondary students who intend to take exams at regime schools, although the teachers had already pledge to SDF not to give such lessons.
