Old ordnance | Explosion kills young man and injures his mother in Damascus countryside

Damascus Countryside – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that a young man was killed and his mother was seriously injured, as a 23-caliber cannon exploded in the village of Magher al-Mir in south-west countryside of Damascus.

An increasing number of people killed recently by a landmine, unexploded bombs, and collapse of war-damaged residential buildings in various Syrian areas and cities such as Homs, Hama Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and southern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory has documented since January 2019 to date some 429 fatalities, including 71 women and 140 children. Of the total number, the Syrian Observatory documented the deaths of 45 people, including 30 women and five children, in their search and collect for “Syrian wild truffles”, which put their lives at risk, “Syrian wild truffles” grow in areas that are exposed to heavy rains and are sold at high prices.
