Eastern Aleppo | Turkish forces shell towns of Manbij, as clashes erupt on frontlines in Al-Bab city

Aleppo Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The villages of Arab Hassan, Al-Jat and al-Tokhar, which are under the control of the Manbij Military Council in Manbij countryside, have been under sporadic Turkish artillery bombardment for hours, coinciding with clashes between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces on Al-Dakhlbash frontline, west of al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo countryside.

SOHR activists said earlier this evening that nine civilians, including three women and two children, were injured, some seriously, as a result of the artillery shelling by the Manbij Military Council forces, which carried out at Russian orders on the town of Al-Bab, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions in eastern Aleppo countryside.

SOHR sources have said that Russian forces have given the green light to the forces of the Council of Manbij to shell the positions of Turkish-backed factions in the area “Euphrates Shield” in north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

According to SOHR sources, Turkish forces rejected Russian forces’ demands to stop shelling positions controlled by the Manbij Military Council and the Al-Bab Military Council, as well as Kurdish-held areas in rural Aleppo, allowing SDF’s military forces to target areas held by Turkish forces and proxy factions.

The Syrian Observatory has monitored shelling by Kurdish forces targeting the city of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo, resulting in injuries, including children.

SOHR sources have reported exchange of intensive rocket attacks between “Manbij Military Council Forces” and “Euphrates Shield” factions on Al-Sajour frontlines in the northern countryside of Manbij. No casualties have been reported so far, while fierce clashes are underway on Jat Sayyad frontlines.

Observatory activists reported earlier this morning that clashes erupted in the early hours of Monday morning between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces on Hazawan and Al-Deghlbash frontlines in the western countryside of Al-Bab in eastern Aleppo. The clashes were accompanied by exchange of bombardment, while Turkish forces shelled Kurdish positions in the region.
