East of Deir ez-Zor | Airstrike targets shipment of weapons of Iranian-backed militias at the Syrian-Iraqi border
Reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that an unidentified drone targeted this morning a car carrying a shipment of weapons coming from Iraq, near an illegal military crossing between Iraq and Syria. The crossing is used by militias to move between the two countries and to bring in reinforcement and shipments near the city of AlbuKamal in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
Meanwhile, violent explosions were heard in the area after the car loaded with ammunition and weapons was targeted, while no information has been reported so far on the extent of the human and material losses.
On February 3, Syrian Observatory activists confirmed that Israeli bombardment targeted several military positions, including farms where militias affiliated with the Lebanese Hezbollah and the “Syrian Resistance for the Liberation of the Golan” are located. Meanwhile, SOHR sources reported hearing several explosions in military posts of the regime’s Brigade-90 Tanks, where Iranian-backed militias are located, in Al-Habbariyah area in Al-Quneitra near the administrative border with Daraa, amid reports of destruction of these posts.
