Security vacuum in southern Syria | Unknown gunman assassinates police officer in Al-Quneitra

Al-Quneitra Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that a gunman on a motorcycle shot dead a police officer in the market of Al-Qusaybah village in Al-Quneitra province.

 

On February 1, SOHR activists documented the death of a “collaborator” with the military intelligence service, after being shot by unknown gunmen in Al-Ruwayhana town near border with the “occupied Golan” in Al-Quneitra countryside.

 

While on January 31, SOHR sources reported an armed attack by unknown assailants on a regime military post in the town of Jaba in the northern countryside of al-Quneitra near the border with the “occupied Golan”. Clashes erupted between regime forces and the attackers, along with hearing an explosion in the area, but no casualties were reported.

 

Two days earlier, SOHR activists said that unidentified gunmen attacked the headquarters of the Air-Force Intelligence branch in the town of Sayda al-Hanout near the occupied Golan, close to an Israeli observation post, while ambulances were seen rushing to the site of the explosion, amid reports of casualties.
