ISIS resurgence in SDF-held areas | Assassination targeting Asayish member in eastern Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on a member of the Internal Security Forces (Al-Asaish), near a SDF post in the town of Al-Shuhayl in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, injuring the member and his companion.

Hours ago, SOHR sources reported that an IED exploded on the side of major street in Muhaymidah town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, while an SDF military vehicle was passing. The explosion left several SDF fighters injured.

Separately, a civilian sustained serious injuries yesterday, after being shot by unknown gunmen in Hajin town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of an SDF fighter, after being shot by unknown gunmen on the road to Al-Jafrah oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

This incident came coincided with the ongoing security chaos in light of prevalence of ISIS cells in SDF-held areas.
