As security chaos and factional clashes continue | Unknown people rob exchange office in Afrin

Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored today an armed robbery in the city of Afrin, which is controlled by Turkish-backed factions, where gunmen stopped the owner of an exchange office on the Tarnada road and stole the money in his possession.

This incident coincides with factional clashes which resulted in chaos in the city. SOHR sources have reported fierce clashes between groups of “Jaysh Al-Islam” and “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah” near “Kawa Al-Haddad” roundabout in Afrin city centre, which is under the control of Turkish forces and the factions of “Olive Branch” operations room in the north-western Aleppo.

According to SOHR sources, the two sides have used heavy weapons in residential neighbourhoods. Meanwhile, both sides brought in military reinforcement to the city. However, the reasons behind this fight remained unknown.
