Syrian desert | 130 Russian airstrikes kill 21 ISIS members

SOHR sources say that Russian jets continue their airstrikes on various positions in the Syrian desert, executing at least 130 airstrikes, in the last 24 hours, targeting ISIS positions in the Aleppo-Hama-Raqqah triangle and the deserts of Deir ez-Zor and Homs. Where a squadron of Russian fighter jets consecutively pounded these areas.

The death toll of ISIS members in the intensive Russian airstrikes has risen to 21, all of whom were killed in these strikes. This comes as the Russians are largely drained by the Islamic State, as they execute dozens of airstrikes, sometimes hundreds, killing some of the group’s members deployed over large areas in the Syrian desert.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,323 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 145 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa.

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, 11 shepherds and four other people were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 754 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
