In presence of assistant of “Turkish Gaziantep governor” | Ground breaking for sharia school project in al-Bab city, under name of Turkish officer who died while dismantling IED in the area

Aleppo Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

In the presence of the assistant of ” Turkish Gaziantep governor” and some of the city’s civil society actors in al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo countryside, the Syrian Observatory has monitored the ground breaking for the construction of a sharia school under the name of “Martyr Demiral School for Islamic Sciences”, named after Turkish officer who died while dismantling an IED in the city on February 4.

On February 4, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the killing of a Turkish officer, who was in charge of the engineering and landmines section in the Turkish army in the city of Al-Bab in eastern Aleppo countryside. The officer was killed while he was dismantling an IED which was intended to detonate at the entrance to the headquarters of “al-Hamza Division” in the old agriculture building in the city.
