For third day | No civilian movement spotted at Saraqeb “safe corridor” propagated about by regime media

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have not document any civilian movement, for the third day in a row, on the “safe corridor” which regime media outlets reported about, claiming that it has been opened with the aim to allow civilians to cross from areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions to regime-controlled areas.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that no civilian movement has been spotted at the “safe corridor” opened by the Syrian regime to civilians wishing to leave the areas controlled by the factions towards regime-held areas, under the name of “safe corridor for the exit of civilians” from Saraqeb area in eastern Idlib countryside.

The Syrian Observatory monitored sarcastic comments by some people who live in regime-held areas about the opening of the “safe corridor“, including “do not let them come, we are going to them –open a corridor to the other side and do not be afraid, as even the statue of Saladin will escape from Syria – prepare smart cards for them to let them enjoy a decent life”, in reference to lack of the basic necessities of life in regime-held areas.

On Monday, reliable SOHR sources monitored relative calm in Saraqeb area, which is under the control of regime forces and its allies in the eastern countryside of Idlib. Meanwhile, no civilians were seen crossing from areas controlled the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions to regime-controlled areas, after reports circulated by regime media outlets in the previous day about the opening of a “safe corridor” for civilians as of Monday.
