“No legitimacy for Al-Assad or his elections” | Residents demonstrate in Idlib and Aleppo

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored several anti-demonstrations in areas under the control of opposition factions in Idlib and Aleppo provinces. In Idlib demonstrators took place in Idlib city, Al-Rami town, Jabal Al-Sammaq, in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, “Ali Ibn Abi Taleb” camp in western Sarmada, and the camps of Atma in northern Idlib, where the demonstrators stressed on the continuation of the “Syrian Revolution”, and demanded the toppling of the Syrian regime, starting of a military operation on regime positions, and the return of displaced people to their villages.

 

While in Aleppo, demonstration took place in Azaz city, Afrin Jendires and Qabaseen, during which the residents demanded the applying of Resolution No. 2254 and the prosecution of the head of the Syrian regime. The demonstrators lifted placards with slogans on them read “No legitimacy for the presidential elections in Syria”

 

Last Friday, SOHR activists monitored hundreds of residents and displaced people demonstrating in “Al-Saba’ Bahrat” square in Idlib city centre. During the demonstration, dubbed “No legitimacy for Al-Assad or his elections”, the protestors chanted slogans, confirming adherence the principles of the “Syrian Revolution”. The demonstrators also called for the toppling of the Syrian regime and overthrow of the “National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces” which they accused of “seeking after its own interests at the expense of the Syrian people”, as they descried.
