HTS arrests two members of “Islamic Party of Liberation” in northern Idlib, and amasses troops for arresting members of “Hurras Al-Din”

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources have informed SOHR that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham has arrested two members of the “Islamic Party of Liberation”, including a non-Syrian, in Kelley town in northern Idlib. Meanwhile, HTS has amassed its troops in Deir Hassan town in northern Idlib in order to storm several houses and arrest suspects affiliated to “Hurras al-Din” organization which swore allegiance to al-Qaida.

 

On Thursday, SOHR sources reported that HTS continued its security campaign against the jihadist organization of “Huraa al-Din” in Idlib province, where reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that “Tahrir al-Sham” arrested two people of the organization in the town of Kelley in northern countryside of Idlib. Also, a Chechen woman was arrested in the city of Idlib, as well as the arrest of a former leader of “Huraa al-Din” in the morning in Deir Hassan in northern Idlib, bringing the number of individuals arrested during the day to six people, including a woman.

 

SOHR activists had said that HTS security services arrested two jihadists of “Huras al-Din” organization in Armanaz town in Idlib countryside, as part of the ongoing HTS campaigns against the organization in Idlib province.

 

On February 20, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a security alert by HTS in the city of Idlib, and some areas in the countryside of Jisr al-Shughour, west of Idlib. According to Syrian Observatory sources, “Tahrir al-Sham” arrested at least ten jihadists, mostly of non-Syrian nationalities belonging to al-Qaeda-linked “Huras al-Din” organization.

 

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the arrests were made after raiding the homes of some of them, while others were arrested at the checkpoints deployed by “Tahrir al-Sham” in the city of Idlib and its surroundings and western countryside of Idlib.
