As fake injuries among Turkish soldiers and repeated attacks increase | Turkish forces prepare large field hospital near Idlib city

SOHR sources say that Turkish forces have established a field hospital containing integrated medical equipment, inside the Turkish post in the town of Al-Mastuma near the city of Idlib.

According to sources, Turkish forces established the hospital after the increase in the number of medical cases of their soldiers in the “de-escalation zone”, in addition to the injuries that Turkish soldiers fake to obtain sick leave at home.

The hospital treats most of the cases, while the serious ones are being transferred to hospitals in Turkey.

Turkish forces are being subjected to attacks through IEDs and RPGs, as well as direct attacks by unknown members.

On February 25, an armoured vehicle of Turkish forces was targeted by an RPG by unknown assailants, coinciding with the explosion of an IED on the road between Ma’rat Misrin and the town of Kafrya in Idlib countryside.

On February 10, SOHR sources confirmed that a landmine exploded near a Turkish vehicle, as three armoured vehicles were conducting a routine patrol on M4 highway between the areas of Uram Al-Jouz and Ariha in Idlib countryside. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

Meanwhile, an organization known as “Al-Tali’a Al-Mujaheda” claimed responsibility of the attack on the Turkish vehicle, as it published pictures showing the explosions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had documented the killing of a Turkish officer, who was in charge of the engineering and landmines section in the Turkish army in the city of Al-Bab in eastern Aleppo countryside. The officer was killed while he was dismantling an IED which was intended to detonate at the entrance to the headquarters of “al-Hamza Division” in the old agriculture building in the city.

The Syrian Observatory documented the death of a soldier of the Turkish forces of wounds he sustained a few days ago, following an armed attack on a Turkish post in western countryside of Idlib. SOHR sources reported on January 31 that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the outpost of a Turkish military post in Abu Al-Zubayr area near Muhambel town on Aleppo-Latakia international highway “M4” in western Idlib. The attack left two Turkish soldiers injured.
