Violations in Afrin | Turkish-backed factions arrest two civilians, north-west of Aleppo
Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
Reliable sources have informed SOHR that Turkish-backed factions arrested two civilians from the village of Kamrok in Ma’abatli district in the countryside of Afrin, north-west of Aleppo, while they were going to the center of the city of Afrin, without knowing the reasons and motives of the arrest. This comes as part of the daily violations against Kurdish civilians in Afrin.
On February 25, in the wake of the explosion which killed a young man and a girl in a house in Al-Basoutah town of Shirawa district in Afrin city, while they were making an IED, reliable sources informed SOHR that Turkish-backed factions unleashed a security campaign in the town, arresting over 25 people, including elderly people, after storming their houses. The arrested people included several relatives of the young man and the girl who were killed in the explosion on Tuesday.
According to SOHR sources, the Turkish-backed factions stormed tens of houses with the aim of inspecting them, along with the state of high security tension in Al-Basoutah, as the actions and police have boosted their checkpoints and imposed strict security measures on passengers travelling from and to the town.
