Aleppo | Turkish and Kurdish forces trade fire in northern countryside

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that Kurdish forces shelled, with rocket launchers, positions in Maryamin village in the northern countryside of Aleppo, injuring three people, as a rocket hit their car on a side street nearby the village.

On the other hand, Turkish forces shelled, with artillery, several positions in the surrounding areas of Menagh military airbase and Tel Rifaat city in Kurdish-held areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo. No casualties have been reported.

Last night, Turkish forces stationed in bases in “Euphrates Shield” areas shelled frontlines of Mare’ city in Aleppo countryside.

On February 26, SOHR sources reported renewed rocket attacks by Turkish forces in early morning, which targeted Kurdish positions nearby Mare’ city in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

A day earlier, SOHR sources monitored several rockets fired by Kurdish forces hitting areas in the city of Afrin, which is under the control of Turkish forces and proxy factions in the north-western countryside of Aleppo. Turkish forces reacted to the Kurdish bombardment by firing rockets on positions in Maranaz, Shawargha, Alqama, Kashta’ar and Sagunaka, which are under the control of Kurdish forces in north and north-west of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.
