Deir ez-Zor | U.S. forces storm river crossing connecting areas held by pro-Iranian militias on eastern Euphrates banks, and expel workers

Deir ez-Zor governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that a patrol of the American forces stormed a river crossing on the eastern banks of the Euphrates in the town of Al-Hawaij in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor in SDF-held areas. The crossing connects the town of Al-Hawaij to the areas held by Iranian militias in the area of al-Mayadeen.

According to SOHR sources, the U.S. patrol expelled all workers and residents who were in the crossing area, and it is worth noting that the work at the crossing is suspended.

In February, SOHR sources said that Syria Democratic Forces stormed river crossings in Theban town in Deir Ezzor countryside where they dismantled pipes linking between the two banks of the Euphrates river used for smuggling oil to regime-held areas.

On the other hand, SDF dug trenches and erected soil barriers on frontlines with regime forces and Iranian-backed militias near Al-Salehiyah.
