Violations in Afrin | Faction close to Turkish Intelligence torture a 73-year-old man to death, after 72 hours of detention

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have confirmed that Turkish-backed factions have delivered the body of a 73-year-old man from Afrin to his family. The victim had been arrested by a faction close to Turkish Intelligence, on March 3, from his house in Maydan Ikbis town for “dealing with the Autonomous Administration”.

 

According to SOHR sources, the faction’s members took the old man to a prison in Afrin city, and there were marks of torture on his body after his death.

 

In connection to this Turkish-backed factions are still holding ten people, including an old man, who were arrested with the 73-year-old man who died under torture and his body was delivered to his family today.

 

This development coincides with the Turkish-backed factions’ daily violations against the residents in Afrin in north-western Aleppo.

 

On March 3, SOHR sources said that Turkish-backed factions arrested two civilians from Kamrok village in Ma’abatli district in Afrin countryside in north-western Aleppo for unknown reasons, while they were heading to Afrin city centre.
