Died under torture in the faction’s prison | Faction close to Turkish Intelligence buries an elderly man from Afrin, after refusing to hand over the body to his family

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a faction close to the Turkish Intelligence has refused to hand over the body of an elderly man from Afrin, who had died under torture in the faction’s prison on Saturday, to the victim’s family.

According to SOHR sources, the man was buried in a graveyard in Maydan Ikbis in Raju district, without allowing any of the old man’s family to attend the funeral contrary to the region’s traditions, so that the faction would ensure that no pictures of the marks of torture would be leaked to public. The man’s family had been informed of his death on Saturday, and that his body would be delivered to them. However, members of the faction, which is close to the Turkish Intelligence, themselves buried the man without holding an Islamic funeral according to Sharia.

On Saturday, SOHR sources confirmed that Turkish-backed factions toured a man in his seventies from Afrin to death. The victim had been arrested by a faction close to Turkish Intelligence, on March 3, from his house in Maydan Ikbis town for “dealing with the Autonomous Administration”.

According to SOHR sources, the faction’s members took the old man to a prison in Afrin city, and there were marks of torture on his body after his death.
