Daraa protests | Civilians block streets in Daraa Al-Balad, protesting arrest of a family’s only son by “recruitment branch”

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources reported that residents in Daraa Al-Balad have set fire to rubber tires, blocking the town’s streets, protesting the regime security services’ arrest of a young man while he was processing transactions in the “recruitment branch”. It is worth noting that the young man is the only son of his family, while the reasons behind his arrest remained unknown.

On February 28, SOHR sources reported that the regime’s security services, including the State Security and Political Security branches, launched a large-scale security campaign in the town of Kafr Nasij in the northern countryside of Daraa. According to Syrian Observatory sources, the regime’s security services targeted former members of opposition factions, who struck reconciliation deals after the regime had captured the area, arresting three settled-status members, while the campaign continued.
