“Dealing with Asayish” | “State Security Branch” takes away nearly 95 security cards granted earlier to pro-regime individuals and informants in Al-Qamishli

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have reported that the “State Security Branch” in the security zone in Al-Qamishli city has took away at least 94 security cards it granted earlier to pro-regime individuals and informants. According to SOHR sources, these individuals and informants have been suspended from their duty completely after being accused of “dealing with Asayish”.

In January 2021, the cities of Al-Hasakah and Al-Qamishli experienced a considerable security tension between Asayish Forces and regime forces for nearly 23 days, during which Asayish Forces imposed a siege on regime-controlled neighbourhoods in the two cities. The state of tension had been over after Russian forces’ mediation at that time.
