Al-Malikiyah (Dayrik) | Russian patrol inspects regime posts and positions on Syria-Turkey border

SOHR sources have reported a routine patrol by Russian forces in Al-Malikiyah (Dayrik) countryside in rural Al-Hasakah. The patrol of four armoured vehicles headed to “Al-Jisr Al-Romani” on the Syria-Turkey border where it inspected regime posts and positions, then it returned to the Russian base in Al-Qamishli city in the western countryside of Al-Hasakah. It is worth noting that the Russian patrol was escorted by two helicopters.

Yesterday, SOHR sources documented, by video, a meeting between Russian and Turkish officers at Sherik crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border in al-Hasakeh countryside, after Turkish forces entered the Syrian interior in order to hold a meeting between the two sides.

During the documentation, Russian officer and soldiers demanded SOHR correspondent stop filming because it is forbidden as the area is a “military zone”, according to the Russian officer. The response is that this is our land and here is Syrian territory we have the right to do what we want. However, the Russians insisted on not filming.

In this context, SOHR sources say that a Russian armoured vehicle hit a civilian car in Al-Derbasiya countryside, while conducting a Russian patrol in the area. The armoured vehicle did not stop after the incident but continued on its way. And then SDF patrol arrived and transported the civilian car from the area.
