Accused of “belonging to ISIS cells” | Internal Security Forces arrest 30 people, and confiscate weapons and military equipment

Al-Hasakah Governorate – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that groups of Internal Security Forces affiliated with SDF stormed the southern neighbourhoods of the city of al-Hasakeh, arresting 30 people for “belonging to Islamic State cells”, and confiscating individual weapons and military equipment they have in their possession.

The security operation comes in light of ISIS cells’ attacks on civilians and members of the military forces in areas of al-Hasakah countryside.

On March 2, SOHR sources said that a motorcycle parked on the road of Al-Siyasi of Al-Ya’rabiyyah town in Al-Hasakah countryside exploded, as a military vehicle of the “Self-Defence Forces” was passing. The explosion caused material damage only.

On February 26, SOHR sources reported that two members of the Self-Defense Forces were found dead on the road between Al-Hawl and Tal Hamis towns in Al-Hasakah countryside. According to SOHR sources, unknown individuals believed to be of ISIS cells have beaten the victims to death using sticks and stones.
