Aleppo | Turkish forces renew shelling villages and positions in Kurdish-held areas

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Turkish forces stationed in Kaljibrin town in the northern countryside of Aleppo have fired tens of artillery shells on the outskirts of Tel Rifaat and the surrounding areas of Menagh military airbase, Harbal, Hasiyyah, Al-Sadd, Um Hoosh farms, and positions between Swaghanah and Oqbiyyah in Shirawa district in Kurdish-held areas in Aleppo countryside. No casualties have been reported.

The Turkish rocket attacks on the Kurdish-held areas come a day after similar attacks, as SOHR sources reported yesterday that Turkish military bases in “Euphrates Shield” areas shelled the surrounding areas of Menagh military airbase, Tel Rifaat, Mar’naz and Sheikh Issa in Kurdish-held areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.

A day earlier, SOHR sources said that Turkish forces and proxy factions shelled the vicinity of Tel Rifa’at, the village of Sheikh Issa, Belouniya and AlQamiya in areas held by Kurdish forces in northern Aleppo countryside. This comes after the killing of the killing of a Turkish-backed fighter.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored fierce clashes with heavy machine guns and artillery shelling on frontline of the town of Kafr Khasher in Aleppo countryside, between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces, following an infiltration attempt by Kurdish forces into advanced positions of Turkish-backed factions. The shelling left one Turkish-backed fighter dead.

Meanwhile, the Turkish base in the village of Tokhar al-Saghir shelled with heavy artillery the perimeter of the village of Al-Jat, north of Manbij, in eastern Aleppo countryside.

On March 8, SOHR activists said that Turkish military bases stationed in the “Euphrates Shield” areas, shelled with heavy artillery the perimeter of Menagh military airport in areas held by Kurdish forces in northern Aleppo countryside.
