After yesterday’s bloody events | Tense calm returns to Jarabulus and Manbij areas in Aleppo countryside

SOHR activists say that Jarabulus, Manbij and their countryside have been witnessing a tense calm since the early hours of the morning after midnight Sunday-Monday, after yesterday’s bloody events, as regime forces launched rocket attacks on areas around the Hamran crossing in Jarabulus countryside in the Turkish-backed areas, which led to the death of a child and a woman and the injury of many others.

Meanwhile, Turkish forces and proxy factions reacted to the regime’s attack by shelling the village of Al-Zanqal in Manbij countryside in eastern Aleppo, resulting in the death of a child and the injuries of others, including children.

In the evening, violent explosions rocked the area of Jarabulus, caused by a rocket attack on the Al-Hamran fuel market near the crossing in Jarabulus countryside in north-eastern Aleppo, injuring a number of civilians and oil workers, and causing large fires in trucks and tanks. After that, exchange of fire with heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades took place between the forces of the Manbij Military Council and Ankara-backed factions, concentrated on frontline of Aoun al-Dadat and Arab Hassan in the northern countryside of Manbij. No casualties have been reported. Furthermore, tense calm prevailed the area.

Yesterday, SOHR sources have reported hearing loud explosions nearby Jarabulus city this evening caused by rocket attacks of unknown origin on Al-Hamaran oil market near Jarabulus in the north-east of Aleppo. The explosions resulted in the injury of several civilians and workers, while fires caught several oil trucks.

This attack comes a week after a similar attack which resulted in the outbreak of the largest fires in the area, which burned down over 180 oil trucks.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a child was killed and two others were injured due to bombardment by Turkish forces stationed in their base in Al-Yashili village on Al-Zanqal village in Manbij countryside in eastern Aleppo.

SOHR activists documented earlier the death of a child and a woman, as several rockets hit the surrounding areas of Hamran crossing in the countryside of Jarabulus city in eastern Aleppo in Turkish-backed areas.
