Routine patrol | US forces inspect border crossings and oil wells near border with Kurdistan Region of Iraq in rural Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported seeing a patrol of four US armoured vehicles touring Ain Diwar area in Al-Hasakah countryside this evening. The patrol, which was escorted by two helicopters, headed to Smilka crossing on the border with Kurdistan Region of Iraq, then it inspected the oil wells in Qarjoukh area.

 

On the other hand, Russian vehicles have toured Al-Malikiyah countryside (Dayrik) and headed to Ain Diwar and Al-Jisr Al-Romani near the Syria-Turkey border.

 

On March 6, SOHR sources reported seeing a US patrol of four armoured vehicles, heading to Bannah Berk and Berbit villages in Al-Malikiyyah countryside (Dayrik) with the aim to discuss with the residents the region’s situation.

 

On the other hand, four Russian armoured vehicles headed to Ain Diwar village in Al-Malikiyyah countryside (Dayrik).

 

These developments came as a part of US and Russian routine patrols in the region.

 

A day earlier, SOHR sources monitored US forces running a routine military patrol near the area of oil wells in the southern countryside of Al-Malikiyyah (Dayrik) on the Syria-Turkey border.

 

On March 2, SOHR sources monitored a routine US patrol heading to the village of Ain Diwar on the Syria-Turkey border in Al-Malikiyyah countryside (Dayrik). According to Syrian Observatory sources, the patrol’s members met with several residents to discuss about the situation in the area, before the patrol resumed its tour in the border area.
