10th anniversary of the Syrian Revolution | Gunmen attack two regime checkpoints in northern Homs countryside

Homs Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that unidentified gunmen targeted a security checkpoint of the regime intelligence, located at the junction of Kafr Laha – Talf in the northern countryside of Homs. The gunmen have also attacked a security checkpoint at the Marimin junction in the northern countryside of Homs, but no casualties have been reported.

Meanwhile, the region is witnessing high security alert by regime checkpoints, for fear of repeated attack.

On February 17, SOHR sources from northern countryside of Homs said that the regime security services launched a new campaign of arrests and raids in several areas, where houses in Kafr Laha, Tal Thhab, al-Houla and other areas north of Homs, were raided.

Meanwhile, regime forces set up temporary checkpoints substantially in the neighbourhoods, entrances and exits of these areas.

The campaign has so far resulted in the arrest of more than 11 young men and men, some were arrested for compulsory military and reserve service and others for unknown reasons so far.

After the regime’s operation, unknown persons wrote graffiti on the walls of a bakery and some schools in the region, against the Syrian regime and the head of the regime Bashar al-Assad.
