“De-escalation zone” | Clashes erupt between rebels and regime forces in Sahl Al-Ghab, while the regime forces renew rocket attack on Jabal Al-Zawiya

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored, in the early hours of the morning, clashes between rebels on one side, regime forces and loyalists on the other, on the Al-Ankawi frontline in Sahl Al-Ghab, north-west of Hama, following an attack by of the regime forces on the rebels’ positions, accompanied by shelling and exchange of fire. The rebels managed to repel the attack, amid reports of casualties on the both sides.

Meanwhile, places in al-Bara, Safohn, Al-Fatira, Kansafra, Benin and Fleifel in the southern countryside of Idlib came under rocket fire by regime forces, but no casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces shelled, with artillery, Jabal Al-Sheikh Barakat area and the surrounding areas of Darat Izza in the western countryside of Aleppo. Meanwhile, opposition factions shelled regime positions, along with clashes with heavy machineguns on the 46th Regiment in the same area.

On the other hand, opposition factions shelled headquarters of regime forces and Russian-backed militias in the surrounding areas of Kafr Nubl town in Idlib countryside. The artillery bombardment destroyed the headquarters, amid reports of casualties.

While in Latakia countryside, the factions shelled regime positions on frontlines of Jabal Al-Akrad with artillery. Regime forces responded to the rebels’ bombardment by shelling positions in Jabal Al-Akrad and Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama.
