Old ordnance | Three people, including woman, killed and others injured in explosion in rural Hama
Hama Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of three people, including a man and his wife, as a result of the explosion of an old landmine left over from the war, in Maragha area in Salamiya countryside in north-eastern Hama province. Meanwhile, another landmine exploded near Qamhana town in eastern Hama countryside, injuring one person.
An increasing number of people killed recently by a landmine, unexploded bombs, and collapse of war-damaged residential buildings in various Syrian areas and cities such as Homs, Hama Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and southern Syria.
The Syrian Observatory has documented since January 2019 to date some 486 fatalities, including 74 women and 152 children. Of the total number, the Syrian Observatory documented the deaths of 112 people, including 45 women and six children, in their search and collect for “Syrian wild truffles”, which put their lives at risk, “Syrian wild truffles” grow in areas that are exposed to heavy rains and are sold at high prices.
