In light of catastrophic living conditions across Syria | Commercial movement grows between the Iranians and Iraqis in west Euphrates

At a time when regime-controlled areas in all Syrian provinces are struggling with catastrophic living conditions and extreme poverty, the commercial movement between Iranian forces and their proxy militias on one hand, and the Iraqis on the other is growing. As official and illegal crossings between Syria and Iraq in west Euphrates region experience entry and exit of trucks carrying vegetables, fruit and other products on a daily basis. The Syrian Observatory would like to point out that the Iranian-backed militias exploit this commercial movement, on many occasions not always, to bring in weapons shipments to areas under their control aboard vegetables and fruit trucks.
