Idlib demonstrations four days on | Demonstrators lift Syrian opposition flag, under HTS protection

SOHR sources have reported seeing residents of Idlib countryside participating in demonstrations for the fourth consecutive day, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the “Syrian Revolution, under protection of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and administrative departments of the “Salvation Government”.

 

SOHR activists have monitored coordination and organization of the demonstrations by the police and security services, as well as allowing media activists to take pictures showing HTS wooing the residents.

 

It is worth noting that HTS affiliates were seen lifting the Syrian opposition flag, unlike the previous years when HTS were lifting the body’s own flag during demonstrations.

 

After Friday prayer, several demonstrations went out in Idlib city, Ariha, Kafr Sarjeh, Darkoush, Hazanu and Al-Dana. The demonstrators lifted the Syrian opposition flag and chanted anti-regime slogans, denouncing the crimes committed by the Syrian regime during the past ten years and demanding the release of detainees and return of displaced people to their areas. Besides, they stressed on the illegitimacy of the incoming presidential election.

 

On the other hand, several demonstrations took place in several cities, towns and villages in rural Aleppo, including Afrin, Azaz, Mare’, Ma’batli, Raju, Abbin Sam’aan, Bab Al-Salamah border crossing, affirming the continuity of the “Syrian Revolution”.
